Andrea Mirabile è Associate Professor of Italian and Cinema & Media Arts presso la Vanderbilt University di Nashville, Tennessee, USA, e si occupa principalmente dei rapporti fra letteraura e arti visive nel Novecento, soprattutto in Italia, Francia, e Stati Uniti. Ha pubblicato saggi e volumi, in italiano e inglese, sulla critica semiotica e post-strutturalista, Roberto Longhi e la sua cerchia, gli scritti francesi di D’Annunzio e il concetto di ‘opera d’arte totale’, la metafora della cecità in Calvino e Pasolini, Ezra Pound e l’arte italiana, un’introduzione alle teorie artistiche dall’antichità al presente, Alberto Burri e i poeti. Con Alberto Conte, ha curato il Meridiano Mondadori dedicato a Cesare Segre. In collaborazione con Giuseppe Carrara, sta curando il numero del 2027 di ‘Letteratura e Letterature’ dedicato a ‘La scrittura e / è l’immagine’.

Andrea Mirabile is Associate Professor of Italian and Cinema & Media Arts at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Mirabile focuses on the relationships between literature and the visual arts in the 20^th century, mostly in Italy, France, and the United States. He published articles and books in Italian and English on semiotics and post-structuralism, Roberto Longhi and his disciples, D’Annunzio’s writings in French and the notion of ‘total artwork,’ the metaphor of blindness in Calvino and Pasolini, Ezra Pound and Italian art, an introduction to artistic theories from antiquity to the present, and Alberto Burri and the poets. With Alberto Conte, Mirabile edited the Meridiano Mondadori on Cesare Segre. In collaboration with Giuseppe Carrara, he is curating the forthcoming issue of ‘Letteratura e Letterature’ (2027): ‘Writing and / as Image.’
